When do classes start?
OceanPointe has designed a schedule around our students’ needs so they don’t have to wait months to start the next class. Our new classes start every seven weeks with open enrollment for each session available for you to join at any point during the year.
How long is the program?
The program are:
- Dental Radiology is 10 weeks long
- Dental Assistant is 12 weeks long
- Dental Receptionist is 9 weeks long
What days do we meet? And at what time?
Classes are held twice a week on Monday’s 6-10 PM and Friday’s 3-7 PM. This schedule allows our students to continue working their current jobs while they complete the program. Additionally, students should plan to attend a 4-hour orientation session prior to the first day of class.
How many students are in each class?
There are a maximum of 20 students in each class. This allows for plenty of individualized attention and ensures that everyone in the class gets the most out of the program.
What is the student/teacher ratio?
At capacity, we have one teacher to every five students.
Is the curriculum online or in-person?
The curriculum is blended. About 25 hours of instruction will be available online, and 80 hours will be conducted in person.
How much does the program cost?
The program costs $6,670. This tuition covers the 10-week program and includes dental supplies, textbook, scrubs and shirt.
What payment plans do you have?
We only offer payment in full in the form of cash, bank check, or credit card. We also accept payment from grants like WIOA, etc.
We do offer a down payment of $600 up to two weeks before the start of classes with signed applications to reserve a spot. After that, full payment is required.
What are the requirements for admission into the program?
Students should generally be older than 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have access to a computer or smartphone.
We do not do background checks at this time.
A criminal conviction will need to be explained to the New Jersey Board of Dentistry and the NJ Board of Radiology, and all necessary documents submitted for evaluation.
What certifications will I receive after completing the program?
Upon completion, students will receive a certificate that allows them to apply to the Indiana Board of Dentistry to become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA). Additionally, you will receive Dental Assistant National Board (DANB) radiology certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

What type of hands-on experience will I get in the program?
You will learn the latest techniques and best practices in dental assisting, including chairside assisting, dental radiology, infection control, and patient communication.

Can I transfer some of my credits from another program over to this one?
